Growing up I remember my mother making sure she had everything she needed for Thanksgiving dinner because if she ran out of anything she wouldn’t be able to run to the store. Why? Back in the day everything was closed on Thanksgiving. Grocery stores, department stores, gas stations, everything closed so that their employees could spend time with their families. In recent times more and more businesses are deciding to open on Thanksgiving to take advantage of holiday shoppers. This video makes a good argument why businesses should be closed on Thanksgiving.
