The Trumann Police Department has received a big honor.  Monday night, Police Chief Chad Henson’s department received its official accreditation from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.

It took about two-and-a-half years of work to complete the 188 standards necessary to get this endorsement.

According to a statement from Chief Henson, “the ALEAP standards are ‘best practices’ within our profession of which are in line with other polices and lessons learned from some of the largest and best agencies around this state and other states. The standards are designed to enhance employee training, employee professional conduct and accountability, personnel management, use of force training, evidence management, records and inventory management, and finally fiscal management.”

According to Henson, Trumann is now one of only five departments in Arkansas to have this accreditation.
