He was just 15 years old serving as the galley boy on a British ship in support of the landing at Normandy. D-Day veteran Jim Radford is thought to be the youngest known soldier serving during the Normandy invasion. Jim wrote a song way back then after seeing the carnage and heroism on the beaches of France that beautifully captures the bravery of the men who stormed the cliffs while German bullets and shells rained down. Now 90, Jim Radford with his weathered voice and aging body sings that song to honor the day that ended tyranny and changed the fate of the world. As you watch the video remember this…we didn’t know them all but we certainly owe them all.
