A fire was reported at Centennial Bank Stadium late Monday night. The Jonesboro Fire Department was called by construction workers when they spotted the fire at the top of Centennial Bank Stadium’s press boxes which are under construction. Authorities believe the fire started when sparks from welders ignited plywood flooring. The freezing temps and height to reach the fire made conditions hazardous for firefighters. Fortunately no one was injured. Fire officials say construction should go on without interruption. ASU hopes to have the new press boxes completed for the start of the Red Wolves season later this year.
