Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Walk On’s Sports Bistreaux, a sports bar serving Louisiana cuisine, celebrated the grand opening of its Jonesboro location Monday morning.

The celebration saw performances from the Arkansas State University band, cheer and dance teams, as well as cheer and dance teams from Jonesboro Public Schools and Nettleton Public Schools. Local student athletes were also present.

Based out of Baton Rouge, LA, the restaurant serves Louisiana-inspired scratch-made food and brings a game-day atmosphere to its diners. Construction began in late 2025, and it has worked over the year to hire approximately 85 employees.

“Every single day, we strive to achieve excellence when it comes to hospitality, service, great cuisine and drinks behind the bar. All of these things you can expect and hold us to the count as we continue to grow in this great community,” said Walk On’s head of operations Chris Williams in the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Walk On’s officials presented a $5,000 check to the Miracle League of Jonesboro, an organization works to remove barriers keeping children with physical and or mental disabilities from playing baseball.

“It’s more than burgers and beer. We’re gonna be integrated into your community, into your schools, into your organizations. Everything that we set out to do with Walk On’s No. 1, we’re gonna do it here in Jonesboro, AR,” said CEO Brandon Landry in the ceremony.

The restaurant sits on the site of Ryan’s Buffet, which closed in 2016, K8 News reported. The site later was the home of Bayird Pre-Owned Super Store. The opening of the Jonesboro restaurant marks the sixth Walk On’s in Arkansas, with the others in Conway, Little Rock, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Fort Smith.

“Jonesboro’s a great community, and we have a great business community, and what makes it great are companies like Walk On’s,” said Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Mark Young in the ceremony. “We so much appreciate you for choosing Jonesboro.”

Walk On’s is located at 2809 E. Highland Drive. It is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 10:45 a.m. to 12 a.m. Click here for the menu.
