Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The United States Postal Service (USPS) is working to deliver mail in the aftermath of a winter storm and lingering icy conditions.

In a statement, Becky Hernandez, a USPS spokesperson, said the agency considers the safety of its employees and customers regarding mail delivery after a winter weather event.

“[We] work closely with local officials and our safety specialists to help evaluate the local infrastructure, including the condition of the roads on which our drivers and carriers operate. In the northeast Arkansas area, local postal officials report that mail carriers will continue to make every attempt to deliver to all addresses, as long as it is safe to do so,” Hernandez said.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, Hernandez told JRN that USPS operations had been temporarily suspended in Arkansas due to safety concerns.

She continued by asking USPS customers to maintain a clear path to mailboxes to help with safe delivery, and that service alerts regarding retail and delivery service information could be found here.

The service alerts page does not list disruptions for Arkansas.
