Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Two Jonesboro men are each being held on $150,000 cash/surety bonds after police said a probation compliance check Tuesday turned up several drugs and paraphernalia, and digital evidence of drug sales.
Jonesboro police arrived at the home in the 200 block of North Allis Street on Feb. 17 to help probation and parole officers regarding 47-year-old Gary Lynn Dye and 50-year-old Kevin Brian Mason.
Investigators noted that Dye is on felony probation while Mason is serving a suspended imposition of a sentence.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a search of the home revealed multiple drug-related items, including:
- Over 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Two glass meth pipes and digital scales
- A bread box and a plastic container filled with syringes
- Two used syringes, one containing blood and another containing an unknown substance
- A small glass jar with THC wax residue
Officers also found a T-Mobile tablet that belonged to Mason, which contained several messages between him and other individuals regarding drug sales. Additionally, while searching Mason’s wallet, officers found a baggy of meth that weighed 0.86 grams, and a small amount of meth stuck to a coffee tablecloth that weighed 0.05 grams.
The next day, District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge both men.
Dye faces two class D felonies: Possession of meth or cocaine less than two grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 12 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.
Mason also faces a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, in addition to two other felonies: Possession of meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams (Class A) and use of a communication device (Class C). If convicted, he faces up to 46 years in prison and $35,000 in fines.
Both men remain in the Craighead County Detention Center and are scheduled to return to court on March 20.
