Tornado warning deactivated for parts of Craighead County

Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 30, 2025 — The National Weather Service placed parts of Craighead County under a tornado warning Sunday night.

UPDATE 7:47 P.M: The NWS has allowed the tornado warning for parts of Craighead County to expire. However, the area remains under a tornado watch until 11 p.m.

UPDATE 7:09 P.M: The NWS has issued a tornado warning for parts of Craighead County. The warning lasts until 7:45 p.m.

According to the NWS, affected locations include Crowley’s Ridge State Park, Lake City, Valley View, Egypt, Craighead Forest Park, Jonesboro, Caraway, and more. Two-inch hail is expected.

According to the NWS, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Strawberry, or 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles State Park around 6:28 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Bono, moving east at 40 mph at 7:06 p.m.

Latest radar as of 7:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 30.

“Heavy rainfall may hide this tornado. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado. TAKE COVER NOW,” the NWS said.

Take shelter now. Move to the lowest level or the most interior part of your home.
