Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Tarah Richardson has been named editor-in-chief of JonesboroRightNow.com.

Rachel Rudd, editor-in-chief since September 2024, will become JRN’s chief reporter. Former chief reporter Nena Zimmer will continue to be a contributing writer. The announcements were made today by Jonesboro Media Group’s president and general manager, Trey Stafford.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Richardson’s career has included every aspect of modern media, including print, digital, audio, and video. She attended both the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, gaining an essential statewide perspective on the needs of the Silver State. At the start of her career, Tarah worked for marketing firms, writing press releases and creating advertising campaigns.

In October of 2005, Tarah began working at Nevada Business Magazine as the publisher’s assistant. Throughout her tenure, she has served as event coordinator, traffic manager, account representative, associate editor, and managing editor. In 2015, Tarah was named editor-in-chief of the magazine, where she leads all aspects of production and oversees all forward-facing projects from the website to the print publication.

She also produces several annual events and supervises the design and direction of Nevada Business Magazine, where she celebrated 20 years of employment. In 2022, Tarah began CanCanary Creative. Focusing primarily on writing, editing, and digital creation, CanCanary is an outlet for Tarah to work on a variety of projects.

In 2024, Tarah made a permanent move to Jonesboro, AR, to be with family. Tarah is actively involved in her church community and enjoys leading small groups in Bible study. She is an avid reader and has travelled across the United States and around the world. She enjoys the outdoors and challenging herself, whether through professional endeavors or personal growth.

“Having the right people in the right positions is key to any business success,” said Stafford, referring to the staff changes made. “Adding Tarah and her years of deep experience to the JonesboroRightNow team is a tremendous addition. Being able to retain Rachel and Nena and utilize them in different roles will be a tremendous asset to our product.”

Rudd was named editor-in-chief on October 1, 2024. Moving to the chief reporter role will give her more freedom to cover issues and do more reporting. “Writing and reporting is what I love,” Rudd said. “I am happy to transition to a more active reporting role and, at the same time, make room for Tarah to step in and strengthen our experience and leadership.” Rudd is a native of Beebe, AR, and graduated from Arkansas State University.

JonesboroRightNow launched its news service on April 2, 2024. The site has had nearly 5 million page views from over 1.8 million unique users since its launch.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the role JonesboroRightNow is playing in our community,” Stafford said. “We are literally writing the history of our town every day and storing it on the world wide web. With the newspaper playing less and less of a role in this region, the work we do is meaningful and it matters.”
