State Police Release Details on Fatal Monday Morning Crash in Jonesboro

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Authorities have released the identity of a Bono man killed in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning at a Jonesboro intersection.

According to the Arkansas State Police Fatal Accident Summary, 38-year-old Jonathan Hurd of Bono died from injuries sustained in the crash, which occurred at 7:55 AM on Monday, July 6.

The initial narrative from investigating officers states that a 2019 Ford F350 was traveling westbound on Parker Road. The driver of the Ford F350 turned onto Wood Springs Road directly into the path of an eastbound 2023 Honda. The Honda then struck the truck.

Hurd, who was identified as the driver of the Honda, was pronounced dead following the collision. His body was transported to St. Bernards Hospital. The state report indicates that next of kin has been notified.

No other injuries were listed in the preliminary state report.

Jonesboro Police Department Investigating Officer PFC Rachel Griffin noted that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the collision.
