School Bus on Highland in Jonesboro Involved in Accident, Road Blocked

Update 4:59 p.m. Aug. 13, 2026: The scene has been cleared and traffic in outside westbound lane is moving again.

Update 3:28 p.m. Aug. 13, 2026: There were 12 children onboard the bus when the crash occurred, according to Smith.

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Highland Road is currently blocked following a vehicle crash involving a bus in Jonesboro.

Sally Smith, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department, told JRN that the crash was reported at 3:04 p.m. when the bus was pulling off MacArthur Park and struck the vehicle.

She said that the outside westbound lane on Highland Drive is blocked, and there are no reported injuries at this time. Police are not yet at the scene.
