Retiring Faculty Members Recognized at 2026 Honors Convocation

Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Faculty members at Arkansas State University who have retired or will retire at the end of the current academic year were recognized during the Faculty Honors Convocation for their longtime service and contributions to the university.  

The annual event is held “… to honor those who have dedicated their careers to advancing knowledge and inspiring generations of students at Arkansas State University,” said Dr. Will McLean, senior vice provost for academic affairs. “Our retiring faculty members have shaped the intellectual and cultural fabric of our university, and their contributions will continue to resonate for years to come.”

This year, 11 retiring faculty members were honored. Dr. Paul Finnicum, professor of health promotion, has the longest term of service, with 38 years. 

Other retirees recognized, along with their academic title and length of service at A-State, were:  

  • Dr. Joanna Grymes, associate professor of teacher education, 37 years
  • Dr. Kris Biondolillo, professor of psychology and counseling, 34 years
  • Elizabeth J. H.  Rollins, associate professor of radiologic sciences, 34 years
  • Donna Caldwell, associate professor of radiologic sciences, 22 years
  • Dr. Hung-Chi Su, associate professor of computer science, 22 years
  • Dr. John Mello, professor of supply chain management, 20 years
  • Dr. Erick Chang, associate professor of management, 19 years
  • Dr. Dwayne Powell, associate professor of accounting, 19 years
  • Dr. Lauri Umansky, emeritus professor of history, 14 years
  • Clint Vogus, instructor in management, 13 years
