Both groups invite Arkansas State alumni and their families to the Carl R. Reng Student Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 11, for a chance to reunite with old classmates and meet new students while learning about important A-State philanthropies.

At the brunch, Red Wolves for St. Jude will give a presentation about their nonprofit and explain how members of the Arkansas State community can support the cause. Volunteer A-State will also share who they are and how A-State alumni can support the organization.

“Alumni are a big part of the community; they are all over Jonesboro and just as passionate about being a Red Wolf or former Indian like our students are,” said Sarah Rodriguez, executive director of Red Wolves for St. Jude. “We notice that not a lot of events that happen are alumni-inclusive, so we wanted to create something for them to come out and reconnect.”

Rodriguez encourages everyone in the community to attend events and donate to St. Jude.

While the upcoming the brunch is catered towards alumni, Red Wolves for St. Jude has a list of upcoming events that are open to current students, including a Color Run that is open to all Jonesboro community members:

  • Sept. 1-30: Childhood Cancer Awareness Jars
  • Sept. 2: Tacos 4 Life Benefit Night
  • Sept. 28-Oct. 2: Cancel Cancer Week
  • Sept. 28: Food Trucks
  • Sept. 29: Cancel Cancer Cell
  • Sept. 30: “Paint of Heart Boost”
