Over $136,000 stolen from local ATMs

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 3, 2024 – A thief who switched out the hard drives at two bank branches – one in Jonesboro and the other in Paragould – netted him more than $136,000, according to police reports from the two departments.

In Paragould, the First National Bank branch at 2701 W. Kingshighway was targeted where PPD Captain Jason Elms told JRN that $101,280 was taken from the ATM on Wednesday night.

In Jonesboro, the First National Bank branch at 2701 E. Highland Dr. was hit after midnight Thursday, according to the Jonesboro police report. The bank reported $35,360 was taken from the ATM “using a hard drive.”

A suspect is described as white, between the ages of 30-40 years old, 5-foot, 7 inches and weighing 200 pounds.

A suspect vehicle described as a red Kia Forte was also reportedly seen on camera multiple times at both incident scenes.
