Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Out of 44 hopeful candidates, a Paragould woman has been chosen to put her love life in the hands of Northeast Arkansas.

Meet 35-year-old Lizzie Davis, of Paragould. As the chosen bachelorette for 104.9 the FOX’s “Blind Date with The Red Clay Strays” contest, Lizzie is gearing up for a night of live country music, a stretch limousine ride, and a blind date with a lucky local bachelor–chosen by you, the listeners.

But before the guys of NEA start throwing their hats in the ring, it’s time to get to know the woman behind the blind date. JRN sat down with Lizzie to ask about herself and her expectations.

Meet Lizzie

For the past seven years, Lizzie has been a familiar face, working as a manager at Peek-A-Boo in Paragould. When she’s not at work, she’s a busy mother of four—three daughters and one son.

“I’m busy all the time,” Lizzie laughed. “That’s why I’m excited about this. I love to go to concerts, I love to do anything outdoors, and I love to go eat.”

When she isn’t running her kids to their activities, Lizzie’s ideal night out is as simple as “riding backroads with the windows down jamming to good music.” She also confessed to having a hidden talent: she loves to attempt to rap.

So, what possessed her to let a radio station set her up with a total stranger?

After having several people tag her and send her the contest link, Lizzie initially laughed it off. But it was a dare from a friend that finally pushed her to apply.

“My friend texted me and was like, ‘If you do it, I’ll do it, and we can be each other’s wing people,'” Lizzie explained. “The blind date did sound fun. I do love The Red Clay Strays, but honestly, it just sounded fun and I’ve never ridden in a limo before!”

What She’s Looking For (And Dealbreakers)

If she had to describe her ideal guy in three words, Lizzie says she’s looking for someone “funny, hard-working, and [with] a big heart.” And for the guys taking notes, her love language is acts of service—specifically, “doing it without complaining about it.”

Lizzie’s looking for a guy who is kind, adventurous, and ready to have a good time. However, she does have a few foundational requirements for any prospective bachelors: have a job, have a car, and don’t live with your mom.

As for dealbreakers? Don’t be a bump on a log.

“It’d have to be someone who isn’t kind, someone who doesn’t like to have fun, and kind of just wants to sit there,” Lizzie said. “To sit at a concert, also, that would be a dealbreaker.”

She also hopes to avoid a repeat of her worst date ever, where her date got so intoxicated that he was falling on other people, leaving her to carry him to bed (In case you’re wondering, no, he did not get a second date).

The Matchmaking Process

Lizzie admitted she’s a little nervous about letting Northeast Arkansas play matchmaker, but she’s ready for the ride.

During the week of Halloween, Lizzie will review photos and bios of the top 10 bachelor finalists, literally crossing out the ones she doesn’t want with a tube of lipstick. If you’re thinking of applying, take her advice: actually fill out the bio.

“I’m more excited to read the bios, because if people just put ‘because I’m single,’ I’m going to be like, no,” she joked.

The first week of November, Lizzie will interview the final five guys on air on 104.9 the FOX. She joked that she might ask them to sing for her, or maybe just ask the important questions: “Do you have a criminal record? A secret wife? Anybody who is going to come after us?”

On Friday, Nov. 6, with the help of FOX listeners, Lizzie will finally select her Bachelor. If all goes perfectly?

“We would have fun, probably sing, dance as much as you can dance to their music, cut up the whole time, and then follow up after,” Lizzie smiled. “Worst case scenario, I hope they’re just not a dud!”
