The victim said they repeatedly told Watson to stop, but the message escalated into threats against their life. Some of the messages included:

  • “I’m not going to leave you alone until your dead”
  • “When I see you tomorrow morning, when you get out of your car it’ll be quick and painless”
  • “Your dead”

On Oct. 1, Paragould detectives were conducting a follow-up interview with the victim when Watson called the victim’s phone. They instructed the victim to answer and place the call on speakerphone.

The affidavit said during the recorded conversation, Watson admitted to making threats toward the victim and their family.

That day, District Judge Curtis Hill found probable cause to charge Watson and gave him a $150,000 cash/surety bond. If released, Watson is required to wear an ankle monitor, surrender any weapons, and have no contact with the victim.
