Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A high-risk sex offender was arrested after police said he failed to report an address change and moved just steps away from two public parks in Jonesboro.

Court documents state that 49-year-old Kuanta Deon Temple is required to register as a sex offender in Arkansas. He was last assessed by the Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment division of the Arkansas Department of Corrections on Sept. 16, 2022, being assigned a Risk Level 3 (High Risk).

According to his probable cause affidavit, on Jan. 31, Jonesboro police officer Greg Trout met Temple at 400 East Roseclair Street. Temple explained he had lived at the address since being evicted from a home in the 5300 block of Nathan Drive in December 2025. However, the officer learned from that property’s owner that no eviction was served, and the home had been vacant since November 2025.

Arkansas state law requires the offender to report any changes in residence, mailing address, or temporary domicile in person to the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction at the time of the change,” the affidavit stated. It noted that this must be done no later than five days before the offender establishes the location unless otherwise indicated, such as an eviction or natural disaster.

It was also found that at the time of the visit, Temple had been living less than 100 feet from Miles Park and 278 feet from the Parker Park Community Center. State law says that a level three or four offender cannot reside within 2,000 feet of a property on which any public parks, schools, or daycare facilities are located. Police noted that Temple did not attempt to contact them about the address change.

The online jail roster shows that Temple was arrested on Feb. 27. He appeared on March 4 before District Judge David Boling, who found probable cause to charge him with two felonies:

  • Failure to register – failure to comply with reporting requirements, a Class C felony.
  • Registered offender living near school/daycare, a Class D felony.

In determining a bond, Boling noted that Temple has 10 previous charges, three of which he was convicted on. Because of this, Temple was given a $500,000 cash/surety bond and ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.

Temple’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 23.
