Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Jonesboro woman is facing a felony charge after police said she attacked a man with a pocket knife on Thanksgiving because he woke her up to help prepare food for the holiday.

According to an affidavit, on Nov. 27, Jonesboro police officers responded to a home on Hope Avenue for a domestic disturbance. They met with the victim and a woman later identified as 30-year-old Roshelle Ray Rogers, and officers determined the two had gotten into a fight.

The victim told officers him waking up Rogers up to begin getting food ready for the holiday upset her and they began to argue. During this, Rogers swung a knife at the victim and sliced his left arm, the affidavit said.

Officers observed the injury and were provided a pocket knife that was said to have been used, noting there was still blood visible on the blade. Rogers was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

On Dec. 1, Rogers appeared before District Judge David Boling for her first hearing. He found probable cause to charge her with second-degree domestic battering and gave her a $50,000 cash/surety bond, noting that she had a history involving similar crimes and was “dangerous to the public.” Boling also ordered Rogers to have no contact with the victim.

Rogers is scheduled to be back in court on Jan. 23, 2026.
