Jonesboro Police Investigating Late-Night Shooting Death at Apartment Complex

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) is investigating a late-night shooting that left one man dead.

According to police officials, officers responded to an emergency call at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Walker Place at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel quickly arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. He was later pronounced deceased.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Detectives were called to the apartment complex to further investigate. A motive for the shooting remains unclear, and authorities have not yet announced any suspect descriptions or arrests.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area of Walker Place around the time of the shooting to come forward and contact the police department. JPD can be contacted by emailing jpd@jonesboroar.gov or calling 870-935-5551.
