Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Jonesboro man is facing a felony terroristic threatening charge after police said he assaulted his wife and threatened to kill her during a domestic dispute.

On Feb. 18, Jonesboro police officers responded to an active disturbance at a home on Hester Street. Dispatchers told officers they were on the line with the victim, who reported her husband, 38-year-old Michael Ray Darnell, had assaulted her and was threatening her life.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told officers that during a confrontation, Darnell pushed her in the head, pointed at her, and stated he was going to kill her. Another person inside the home also heard the threat.

Officers found Darnell at the home and took him into custody, transporting him to the Craighead County Detention Center.

Two days later, Darnell appeared before Circuit Judge Charles Mooney, who found probable cause to charge him with terroristic threatening – 1st degree (Class D felony) and assault – 3rd degree (Class C misdemeanor).

Darnell is being held on a $75,000 cash/surety bond and was ordered to have no contact with the victim or the witness. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 20.
