Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 4, 2024 – The Jonesboro Butterball location will close Feb. 3, 2025, putting about 180 people out of work.

The company said it held a town hall meeting with employees this morning, notifying them of the closure. In the meeting, employees were informed about severance options, benefits and workforce support options, according to a statement from the company.

A representative with Butterball did not specify why the location was shutting down.

Employees will continue to be paid through Feb. 3, provided they work through their scheduled end of service date in accordance with the WARN Act, the statement said.

“We deliberated for a long time about this difficult decision, as we know it will affect about 180 team members and their families,” said Jay Jandrain, CEO and president of Butterball. “We are committed to helping our team members as they determine next steps in their careers.”

The Jonesboro facility is a further processing facility, meaning it receives products from other Butterball plants to process, pack and ship them. These services will be moved to other facilities within the Butterball manufacturing network.

The facility is located at 9401 E. Highland Drive.
