Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Arkansas State University is ready to celebrate Homecoming Week 2025, “Red Wolves Road Trip,” with a variety of events for students, alumni and the community.
“This year’s theme symbolizes the idea that while students at Arkansas State University come from many different places around the world, A-State becomes the place that brings us all together,” said Chauncy Betts, a member of the Student Activities Board. “Just like a road trip, the A-State experience is filled with memorable stops, new friendships and lasting stories. Highlighting different destinations ties into the diversity of the A-State community.”
Voting for the Homecoming Court will take place 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. Details about homecoming court selection are online.
From 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, “Hot Ones at Home Challenge” in Centennial Hall will take place, where the 2025 Homecoming Court will also be announced. Banners for the competition are due in the Leadership Center by 9 a.m.
“Everything’s Bigger @ A-State” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, on the lawn outside the Red WOLF Center, hosted in partnership with Volunteer A-State.
Those attending Everything’s Bigger @ A-State can enjoy a ride, fair food, carnival games and music. Those who donate a nonperishable food item to the A-State food pantry can receive a free homecoming T-shirt.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, “Mardi Gras Madness” will be held on Heritage Plaza Lawn, bringing jazz music, New Orleans-inspired food and crafts to campus. Homecoming Court interviews will also take place this day.
“We’re really excited to see how the students will interact with the events, especially this new freshman class,” Betts said. “From our experiences, they’re a very active and driven group and we would like to see how their energy will add to the days.”
Voting for Homecoming King and Queen will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23. Also on the same day, “Paparazzi with the Pack” is a social media challenge.
From 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, the College of Education and Behavioral Science will host an Alumni Celebration, honoring outstanding alumni from each department, in Fowler Center’s Grand Hall.
Later that evening, at 6:30 p.m., the campus will gather for “Yell Like Hell: Party in the ASU” outside the Red W.O.L.F. Center, featuring food, fun, performances, and a lip-sync battle. Winners of the banner painting competition and other contests will also be announced at this event.
“After hearing a lot of feedback from students wondering what they should wear to events, we decided to bring back something many of us remember from high school, which are dress-up days,” Betts said. “Each day of Homecoming Week will have its own theme, giving students a fun dress code to follow and adding another layer of excitement and school spirit to the week.”
Homecoming day will be Saturday, Oct. 25, with the Alumni Association tailgate for all alumni and friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Cooper Alumni Center. Reunions for the classes of 1975, 2000 and 2015 will highlight the tailgate; more details are available online, along with the class registration page.
The fifth annual Furry 5K, hosted by the College of Agriculture in support of Ag for Autism, will also take place before the game. More details are online.
The Little Mister and Miss A-State participants will join the Homecoming Court on the field of Centennial Bank Stadium during pregame festivities to crown the King and Queen. Applications are available online.
The week concludes with the Homecoming game as the Arkansas State Red Wolves take on Georgia Southern with a 6 p.m. kickoff at Centennial Bank Stadium.
Gates open at 4 p.m. and only clear bags will be allowed inside the stadium. Students, alumni and the community are invited to enjoy tailgating before the game.
