Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – For those looking for something fun and nostalgic to do this holiday season, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center, one of the Heritage Sites at Arkansas State University, will host a bus tour in December.

“Join us for a festive journey beginning at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer home with themed snacks, holiday drinks, and a rum tasting,” said Penny Toombs, assistant director of the A-State Heritage Sites.

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13. There are two departure locations for the bus tour, including pickup locations in Little Rock and Memphis. The Memphis bus will also have a pickup location in Wilson.

The start times vary depending on the location, but are at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.

“Join us for this delightful holiday journey honoring the legacy of Ernest Hemingway and the rich heritage of the Arkansas Delta,” Toombs added. “Our first stop will be the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum in Piggott, where guests will enjoy a special open-house tour of the beautifully restored Pfeiffer home and the historic barn where Hemingway wrote during his extended stays.”

Following the stop in Piggott, the tour continues to Wilson.

“Guests will take part in a Hemingway mixology experience, savor carefully curated dishes, and have time to explore the charming town square and its unique shops,” Toombs continued.

The tour is expected to end by around 7 p.m.

The full-day excursion is for those 21 and older. The Memphis departure is $265, and the Little Rock departure is $285. The ticket price includes all activities and experiences, including meals. Travel will be provided by Backbeat Tours and Little Rock Coaches.
