Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 24, 2025 – With the 2025 Downtown Jonesboro BBQ Festival this weekend, BBQ Fest chairman Tim McCall gave some last-minute updates regarding road closures and new entertainment.

According to McCall, both Main and Union streets will be closed for the festival, starting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The roads will reopen on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Several downtown parking lots closed on Wednesday at 6 a.m. as festival setup began.

“We just want to remind everybody to please not try to park in those lots because we’ve got equipment coming in for the stages and things like that,” he said.

However, he said City of Jonesboro have Jonesboro Economical Transportation (JET) buses running to special stop locations during the event this year. These locations will be posted on the city’s Facebook closer to the event.

The Downtown Jonesboro BBQ Festival will be on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26-27 in Downtown Jonesboro. It will have music and entertainment, the First National Bank KCBS Arkansas State Barbecue Championship, food trucks and vendors, the Kidz Zone, and more.

“Everything’s coming together. We’re just keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t get a lot of rain,” he said. “I think we’re going to be in good shape.”

Due to the growth of the event, McCall said there will be even more vendors this year.

“We have a lot of new vendors and several out of state vendors this year,” he said. “We expect more vendors than we’ve had in the past so we’re actually going to put some vendors on Union Street over by the barbecue area.”

Two new additions to the entertainment lineup this year include Friday night’s T&R Wrestling and Saturday’s Foam Party, which will both be in the parking lot near the corner of Union Street and Huntington Avenue.
