City of Jonesboro expands online tools on its website

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 4, 2025 – Several new online tools are now on the City of Jonesboro’s website to provide “greater transparency, efficiency and opportunities for community engagement,” according to a City of Jonesboro news release.

The updates are designed to make it easier for residents, businesses and media to connect with city services, a City of Jonesboro news release said.

“These new tools allow us to streamline communication and make it more convenient for the public to access city services,” said Mayor Harold Copenhaver in the release. “Transparency is a priority for the City of Jonesboro, and continued investments like this make information more accessible to everyone. It’s another step forward in serving our community.”

New website features include:

  • Request Tracker – Report issues directly through the website and track their progress.
  • Crisis Communication Alerts – Sign up for emergency notifications by phone, text, or email.
  • Stay Connected Hub – Access the City’s official social media channels in one place.
  • Public Information Requests (FOIA) – Submit and track Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
  • Speaker Requests – Invite city leaders to speak at schools, civic groups, and community programs.
  • Proclamation Requests – Submit requests for mayoral proclamations that honor community events, milestones, and noteworthy achievements.
  • Community Chit Chat Inquiries – Nonprofits can request time on the City’s program to share their events, initiatives, and community impact with a wider audience.
  • Media Inquiries – Journalists can submit interview or information requests through the portal to help ensure timely, accurate responses.
  • Press Release Archive – Find the City’s latest announcements quickly and easily.
  • Brand Board Marketing Kit – Access official guidelines for logo usage, fonts, colors, and hashtags.

The next step will be expanding PEG Channel 24 to the City’s website by 2026, the release said.

In addition to these new features, residents are encouraged to utilize the City of Jonesboro’s Legistar portal, maintained by the City Clerk’s office, to access official records of city actions, legislation documents, council and committee meeting minutes, upcoming agendas, livestreams, and archived videos of previous meetings.
