Update – Bomb Threat at ASU

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 20, 2024 –

10:16 am UPDATE: The ASU buildings have been cleared by officials. Normal operation in and around the campus can resume.

Around 7:15am on Saturday, the ASU Alert System sent out two texts advising of a bomb threat on campus.

The first text was sent at 7:15am and read “URGENT A bomb threat for Dean B. Ellis Library in Arkansas State University is under investigation. Evacuate immediately and avoid this area.”

The second text was sent at 7:17am and read “URGENT A bomb threat for Student Union in Arkansas State University is under investigation. Evacuate immediately and avoid this area.”

The University has asked local law enforcement agencies to respond for assistance.

ASU posted the following message to their social media around 8am:
