Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – The Arkansas State Golf Association, in partnership with PGA TOUR winner and University of Arkansas alum Austin Cook, will host the 2nd Annual Austin Cook Junior Championship Sept. 5–6 at Ridgepointe Country Club in Jonesboro.
The championship is designed to showcase Arkansas’ top junior golf talent while allowing young golfers to compete at a high level and take the next step toward collegiate golf. The 36-hole championship will feature two rounds of stroke play, with Boys and Girls 14–18 divisions competing over the two-day event.
Cook, a Jonesboro native, former University of Arkansas golfer, and PGA Tour Champion, has made giving back to the next generation of Arkansas golfers a priority. The partnership between Cook and the ASGA gives junior golfers the chance to learn from a player who has competed at the highest levels of the game while gaining valuable tournament experience.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes of stroke play, with 18 holes played each day. Boys will compete from approximately 6,500 yards, while girls will compete from approximately 5,800 yards. The field will be limited to 57 boys and 27 girls.
Tournament results will be submitted to the Junior Golf Scoreboard and the American Junior Golf Association after the championship, giving players national exposure and recognition. The event will also offer Simmons Bank Player of the Year points toward the 2026 Championship Season Race.

In addition to 36 holes of competition, players will have the opportunity to participate in a range clinic and town hall Q&A with Cook.
The championship is open to eligible boys and girls ages 14–18, with practice rounds available Friday, Sept. 4, competition beginning Saturday, Sept. 5, and the final round and trophy ceremony Sunday, Sept. 6.
