Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Offering a creative and family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween, the Department of Art + Design at Arkansas State University will host its seventh annual Halloween Arts Bash from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, at the Windgate Center for Three-Dimensional Arts.

The event will feature a wide range of free activities designed for all ages. The first 100 guests will also receive special screen-printed tote bags designed by Art + Design faculty and the Bradbury Art Museum.

“An important aspect of designing this event was increasing accessibility and maintaining a safe and fun space for all ages. The greatest improvement over previous years of Halloween Arts Bash is that this year it will be completely free!” said Lydia Dildilian, assistant professor of painting, and chair of the events committee. “Thanks to incredible campus sponsorships and donations from the CLAC Dean’s Office, the Art + Design Department, College of Agriculture, and Bradbury Art Museum, we’re providing pumpkin painting, trunk-or-treat, a coloring station, and a spirit photography activity, all entirely free and available to the public.”

Activities at the Halloween Arts Bash include:

Spirit Photography Portraits: Paden DeVita, photographer and education coordinator, Bradbury Art Museum, will make portraits on site. Guests can line up to have their portraits taken and receive a CMYK print from a portable printer.

Free Pumpkin Painting: Held in the Sculpture Room. Supplies will be provided.

Custom-Designed Coloring Pages for Kids: Completely free, with crayons provided by the Department of Art + Design.

Trunk-or-Treat Event: Located in the main gallery hallway of the Windgate Center, running 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Pumpkin donations are being accepted for the pumpkin painting station. Anyone interested in contributing pumpkins can contact Kristen Franyutti, assistant professor of drawing and fiber, at kfranyutti@AState.edu.

The Department of Art + Design emphasizes community engagement and creativity, with students leading fundraising efforts to support the event.

Last year’s Halloween Arts Bash drew more than 250 community members, and this year promises to be even bigger. For more information, to volunteer, or to donate, one may contact Dildilian at ldildilian@AState.edu.
