ARDOT to host meeting discussing proposed widening of Jonesboro highway

Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 5, 2025 — The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) will host a public involvement meeting on Thursday, May 8, to discuss the proposed widening of Highway 91 west of County Road 132 to West Parker Road in Jonesboro.

The meeting will be held at Westside High School’s Library Media Center, located at 1630 Highway 91 West. The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public may drop in at any time.

According to ARDOT, the proposed project will involve widening the road from two lanes to three to incorporate a two-way left turn lane. Sidewalks, a shared-use path and a roundabout at Highway 349 are also being considered.

The public may view meeting materials and provide written comments online here, which will be available at the meeting. A Spanish translation of the website is available.

Comments regarding the project will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22. Submit online comment forms to ARDOT or print the form and mail it to: Environmental Division, P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR 72203-2261.
