April Events Scheduled at the Jonesboro Library

Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Events for all ages are scheduled in April at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

On April 18, the library will partner with Beacon Tutoring Company to host a practice ACT test. The practice test will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Round Room, which should be entered using the after-hours entrance on the library’s Madison Street side. Teens can pre-register online here or in person.

On April 21 from 4-5 p.m., tweens in grades 4-6 are invited to celebrate sustainability with an Earth Day sculpture-making program. Hosted in the Children’s Library, the event will have participants use natural and recycled materials to make their sculptures, which will be displayed there.

Attendees are asked to wear clothes they do not mind getting dirty. No registration is required.

Later that same day, teens and adults can participate in a hands-on 3D printing workshop. It will take place from 4:30-6 p.m. in the TeenHub Makerspace.

This workshop is designed for participants aged 13 and up, and will introduce 3D printing fundamentals, such as how 3D printers work, safe operation practices, maintenance techniques and how to create custom 3D designs.

Chris Turner of the NEA 3D Printing Club will lead the workshop. No registration required.

Then, on April 22, teens in grades 7-12 are invited to celebrate National Poetry Month with a Magnet Poetry Workshop. This is scheduled from 4-5 p.m. in the Round Room.

In this workshop, teens will arrange magnetic pieces to create poems. No registration is required.
