Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Jonesboro woman is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond after police said they found over 400 grams of marijuana and a loaded handgun in her motel room.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause Jan. 12 to charge 32-year-old Claudine Odessa Lockridge with the following:

  • Class C Felony: Possession of a Schedule VI substance with the purpose to deliver
  • Class Y Felony: Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms
  • Class D Felony: Possession of a firearm by certain person (prior felony)

According to the affidavit, on Jan. 9, Jonesboro police officer James Johnson learned Lockridge had a felony warrant for her arrest and was staying at the Super 8 Motel. After confirming which room she was staying in, the officer made contact with Lockridge and arrested her. Police later found she was listed as a probation absconder.

While searching the room, officers noted a strong smell of marijuana. Police said they found a compartment under the nightstand that contained an ashtray with a blunt and two buds of marijuana in it. When asked if there was anything illegal in the room, Lockridge told officers there was a “pound” in a cheetah print bag on the bed.

The affidavit said that, upon opening the bag, a large plastic baggie of marijuana was found. Officer Johnson also found a McDonald’s bag that contained more marijuana and a loaded Ruger 380 caliber handgun with one round chambered. In total, 410.2 grams of marijuana was found during the search.

In addition to the $100,000 bond, Boling ordered Lockridge to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.

Lockridge’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23.
