Atlanta, GA – (Contributed) – September 27, 2025 – Arkansas State volleyball (8-5, 1-1 SBC) fell in the weekend finale at Georgia State (10-3, 1-1 SBC), dropping a 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 23-25) decision on Saturday afternoon at the GSU Sports Arena.

Devyn Lewis led the team with seven kills while Payton Van Veen and Addison Collum recorded a team-high three blocks apiece. As a team, A-State recorded 33 kills on a .130 percentage plus 34 digs and 31 assists.

Trailing 6-5 in the opening set, the Red Wolves surrendered 12 of the next 17 rallies and faced an eight-point deficit. A kill from Kaitlin Whitlock paired with a service ace by Daedrianna Cail sparked the offense to a 9-4 run that closed the gap to three, but the rally would fall short as the Panthers took the set by four points.

A-State trailed 9-5 to begin the second set, but three consecutive attack errors from the opposition followed by an ace from Haley Glunz and a kill from Lewis made the score 10-9. The Red Wolves trailed 17-16 before surrendering a 7-1 scoring run that allowed Georgia State to move ahead 2-0 with a 25-20 decision.

Another scoring run for the Panthers created separation in the third set, winning seven consecutive rallies to open a 12-6 advantage. The deficit peaked at eight before momentum shifted to A-State, closing the gap to 24-23 before a kill for Georgia State ended hopes of a comeback.
