Little Rock, AR – (Contributed) – Sept. 6, 2025 – The Arkansas State football team (1-1, 0-0 SBC) fell behind early and could not recover in a 56-14 setback versus Arkansas (2-0, 0-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium.

A-State was led by junior quarterback Jaylen Raynor who finished 21-of-33 passing for 125 yards with a touchdown while adding another 38 yards on the ground. A-State’s defense collected a pair of interceptions, but it wasn’t enough to counter an explosive Arkansas offense.

The Red Wolves surrendered touchdowns on the first two drives, with the opposition tallying 155 yards on eight plays to move ahead 14-0. On the ensuing kickoff, sophomore wide receiver Chauncy Cobb cut the deficit in half with a 98-yard return, tying for the fourth longest in program history.

Two 50-plus yard drives by the Razorbacks resulted in a 28-7 score before both sides split two interceptions and punts to end the first quarter.

A-State’s first drive of the second quarter ended in a punt, but Avante Dickerson picked off Taylen Green on the Red Wolves’ 38-yard line. The Scarlet and Black marched 62 yards on 14 plays, scoring on a two-yard pass from Raynor to junior offensive lineman Cameron Ambrose.

Arkansas responded with an 83-yard drive consisting of 12 plays to make the score 35-14 entering intermission.

A turnover ended the opening drive of the second half for A-State, resulting in a five play, 70-yard drive that ended with a touchdown for the Razorbacks. The deficit was pushed to 35 after a 14-yard touchdown reception with 3:46 to go.

A-State surrendered a touchdown with 6:16 remaining in the fourth quarter, and could not respond before the clock hit 0:00.
