A-State cross country to begin 2025 campaign at Memphis Twilight

Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Aug. 29, 2025 – Arkansas State cross country opens the 2025 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 30, in the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic hosted by Christian Brothers University.

The event will be held at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, with the women’s 5K race set to begin at 9:20 p.m. while the men’s 4-mile race is slated for a 10 p.m. start. Live results can be found here.

The teams competing are below:

Arkansas State, Calhoun CC, Christian Brothers, Crowder CC, Crowley’s Ridge, Dyersburg State CC, Freed-Hardeman, Hyper Focus TC, Lemoyne-Owen, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Millsaps College, Mississippi State, Northeast Mississippi, No. 27/NR Ole Miss, Ozarks (Ark.), Wallace State and Williams Baptist.

A-State received high rankings in the 2025 SBC Cross Country Preseason Polls, with the men and women placing second in their respective standings. In the USTFCCCA preseason regional rankings, A-State checked in at 11th on the men’s side while the women were ranked 14th. 

A-State travels to Memphis for the sixth season out of the last seven, and will return on Sept. 20 for the Rhodes Cross Country College Invitational. Last season at Memphis Twilight, the Red Wolves placed third on the women’s side with 97 points while the men finished sixth with 128 points.

The Scarlet and Black are led by head coach Jesse Duvall, who enters his 10th season with the program (seventh as head cross country coach). The 2025 roster consists of three graduates, seven seniors, three juniors, 13 sophomores, and seven freshman. A-State returns 20 athletes and adds 13 newcomers.
