Valley View Latest Threat Target

/Facebook: Jonesboro Police Department

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – September 18, 2024 – The Valley View School campus is the latest school to deal with a threat incident.

The Jonesboro Police Department posted that on Wednesday an 11th grade student reported that they overheard a student say, “he was going to shoot up the school.” JPD said the school was notified and a school resource officer (SRO) contacted the JPD Criminal Investigation Division.

An investigation was conducted, and a person of interest was taken into custody to be questioned.

JPD says a 14-year-old male was arrested around 6:30 this evening.

“We treat all threats of this nature in a serious manner and will investigate to identify suspects in these crimes,” JPD said in a Facebook post.

A 15-year-old female student at Nettleton was arrested Tuesday following a threat incident there. The Kennett, MO High School cancelled classes Monday due to a threat and a juvenile is charged in connection with that incident.
