Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 4, 2024 – Hytrol invites community members to participate in the Hytrol Industrial Park 5K/10K, benefiting the Jonesboro Church Health Center (JCHC) this year.

The event will be Nov. 16 at Hytrol Conveyor Company, located at 2020 Hytrol Street.

Event coordinator Hannah Freeland, who is also the Hytrol Conveyor Company Health Club Coordinator, said the event started in 1996 as a joint effort between a lot of the companies in the industrial park area.

“Over time, Hytrol has taken over the event and we’re hoping that with increased participation we can turn it back into a full community effort,” Freeland said. “There are several ideas behind the continuance of the Industrial Park 5K/10K. Hytrol is here because of the Jonesboro community, and this is one of the ways we give back to that community and give our employees a way to stay engaged with the community.”

She also noted their long history of supporting the JCHC.

“Besides the processing fees, all proceeds are going to the Jonesboro Church Health Center,” she said. “We believe we will be able to raise at least $2,000, but the more signups we have, the more we will be able to raise.”

“The race is open to everyone, and we have a special Spirit Runner option for those who may want to join the cause but may be too far away to participate on the day of. The name is to signify the commitment of Hytrol and other local industries here in Jonesboro to give back and play an active role in our community,” Freeland continued.

Registration cost is $25 per person for the 5k and $35 per person for the 10k. Prices will increase Nov. 7 to $35 for the 5k race and $50 for the 10k.

Those who register early enough get a shirt, and the first 150 race registrants (must be present on race day) get a prize pack that includes a Stanley tumbler, Shadrach’s coffee, and a custom bar of soap from Magnolia Soaps.

Early Race packet pick up will be at Dan’s Health Club at Hytrol on Nov. 15 from 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Race Day packet pick up will be Nov. 16 from 7-8:30 a.m. at Dan’s Health Club. Racers should enter through door S35 at the back of the building to pick up their packets.

“We would just love to see as many interested participants out here with us as possible,” she said. “In addition to good exercise and having a fun time, the event benefits the Jonesboro Church Health Center. They’re a non-profit organization that is such a blessing to our community. The Jonesboro Church Health Clinic provides low cost, high quality medical care to the low income, uninsured citizens of Jonesboro and its surrounding areas.”
