Annual Veterans Day parade in Jonesboro canceled due to weather

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 7, 2024 – Due to forecasts of thunderstorms and heavy rain, the annual Veterans Parade scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.

The program will instead be held indoors at the Lt. Col. Frederick Turner Military Science Building on the A-State campus beginning at 10 a.m.

The event will feature keynote speaker Brig. Gen. Micheal C. Henderson. Retired Sgt. 1st Class Carl Mosby and his wife Ingeborg will be special honorees.

In addition, Cmdr. Micheal Huber and a few crew members of the USS Arkansas will present updates on the soon-to-be christened Virgina-class nuclear submarine. Virgina-class submarines are the U.S. Navy’s newest class of fast-attack subs. Newly purchased memorial bricks will be acknowledged at the ceremony.

The relocated event offers ample seating, entertainment, and USS Arkansas merchandise for attendees. SONCOM Media Productions will livestream the event on their Facebook page here.
